Come along to these sessions to find out what you are good at. These sessions consist of numerous activities such as drawing, painting, model making and therapeutic colouring books. Giving residents a sense of achievement when producing a completed product
Express yourself through music
These activity sessions vary and include musical instrument mornings, visits from outside entertainers and karaoke sing-a-long’s. Listening to music is proven to elevate the mood and reduce stress. With a wide range of different genre’s and artists, their is something for everyone.
Armchair Aerobics
Light exercise to get those limbs moving from the comfort of your armchair. A way for older adults to move without putting to much strain on their bodies
Ball games & Target throwing
Throw the balls at the brightly coloured target and count your score. Encourages gross motor skills and hand-eye co-ordination.
Jigsaw puzzles & Board Games
Jigsaw puzzles of all shapes and sizes. Board games include Jenga, connect 4, scrabble, guess who, monopoly and frustration. A chance for residents to socialise whilst keeping the mind stimulated and occupied.
Gardening & Planting
Here we have accessible and raised planters and ‘grow your own vegetable garden’s’ for those who have green fingers and enjoy spending time in the garden. We also have a large garden and patio area for those who would like to enjoy the warm summer days in the fresh air.
Dominoes Tournament
Come along and join in our dominoes tournament, just for fun. Giving everyone the chance to show their skills and engage in social conversation with other residents at the same time.
Prize Bingo
A firm favourite with our residents here at Stainton way. Numerous games of bingo played each session, giving everyone the chance to win a prize. Regular intervals throughout the session, enabling the chance for refreshments and a quick chit-chat.
Seasonal Parties & Themed evenings
Parties for all the seasons, with games, entertainment and refreshments to fit the theme. Themed evenings include Pie and peas bingo nights, ‘A night at the movies’ home cinema experience, and fancy dress days. All proven popular with the residents here at Stainton way.
